When heating the house heat the entire area, open doors and allow the air to circulate.  

Use duck tape and foam padding to insulate pipes against freezing. It’s not a bad idea to place a space heater or light a safe distance from the pipes to help keep them warm.  

It’s always a good idea to run water at different times throughout the day and night. 

A plumbing emergency can happen to anyone but by properly maintaining our pipes we lessen the chances of it happening to us. However, it’s a good idea to know who you’re going to call if an emergency arrives. You’ll be a lot better off to research the local plumbers now and know who you can trust and who might try to take advantage of a plumbing problem to fill their own pockets.
